Health Programme

Smile Of Hope Ministries (SOHM) empowers Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Village Health Teams (VHTs) to assist families in making informed healthcare decisions and adopting beneficial home healthcare practices. SOHM services address needs and deficiencies as identified by the communities themselves. Utilizing locally-based volunteers has allowed SOHM programs to change attitudes and behaviours within target communities on a long-term basis, in a low-cost method that ensures sustainability.
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done” (Proverbs 19:17).
SOHM works with Shalom Medical Center, Kyotera-Rakai District to carry out medical camp, mobile clinic, free counseling and guidance and free HIV/AIDS testing to communities with an aim to improve the lives of vulnerable people.
We do all these activities twice a year or more depending on availability of funds.
